MEDIC Spaces and equipment

The Medical Device Innovation Center (MEDIC) at NEOMED provides medical device design, development, prototyping and consulting services. We have the following spaces and equipment available for your bioinnovation work.

MEDIC Spaces

Spaces available at our Rootstown campus

Students work at various stations across the bright design shop.

Design Shop

Provides workbenches, hand tools, 3D printers, 3D scanner, soldering and electronic test, industrial sewing machine for harnesses and supports.

Machine Shop

Basic hand tools, benches, milling machine, lathe, drill press, bandsaw, CNC mill, grinders and sanders.

Martha Boyle Suite

This executive conference room is suited for investor presentations, lectures and business meetings. Includes a large monitor, white board and video conferencing capability.

Collision Space

A multi-purpose space for larger meetings/presentations and group-based activities. Accommodates about 60-100 with flexible seating.

MEDIC Equipment

Device Development Lab

Fusion3 Edge 3D printers (4)

Delivers high performance with materials such as ABS, PC, ASA, nylon, and Carbon fiber filled materials. Largest build volume in its class (14.5”x14.5”x13.5”) to handle bigger projects.

Sailrite Fabricator Sewing Machine

Straight-stitch machine with servo motor and compound walking foot. Capable of heavy weight materials as is typically required for medical support harnesses.

Einscan HX Handheld 3D Scanner

Hybrid blue laser and LED light scanning for a wider range of object size capability. Software includes Solid Edge Shining 3D and QuickSurface.

Stratasys J5 MediJet 3D Printer

Provides multi-material, multicolor and biocompatible resin-based capabilities in a single print tray. Useful for pre-surgical planning, surgical guides and tooling, and medical device development.

AON3D M2+ High Temperature Industrial Printer

A high-temperature industrial 3D printer for manufacturing full-scale, strong, high-performance parts. Capable of using the most advanced materials including PEEK, PEKK, and ULTEM.
