Suicide is the second leading cause of death for college students. More than 1,000 students die by suicide each year and more than 50% have had thoughts of suicide at one time in their life. Yet 80% of those who die by suicide did not have contact with the campus counseling center and only 26% of students are aware of campus mental health resources.
