The BeST Center offers expert training, consultation and other assistance in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBT-p), a person-centered, recovery-oriented, collaborative, structured and evidence-based approach for helping individuals who experience psychosis.

What we do
Train providers and agencies in recovery-oriented care by:
- Providing opportunities for learning CBT-p and related strategies to fidelity (intensive training and consultation).
- Developing implementation strategies with agencies to support sustainable, growth-oriented programs.

BeST Center CBT-p Training & Consultation
The BeST Center offers training and consultation in CBT-p interventions that individual practitioners and teams, such as first episode psychosis and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, can incorporate into clinical care.

Training for Practitioners
The following practitioners can benefit from training in CBT-p informed strategies: Nurses, case managers, counselors, therapists, supported employment specialists, psychiatrists, and peer recovery specialists.
- Therapists
Therapists are trained in formulation-based CBT-p where they complete 3-day intensive training, consultation meetings and work sample review in order to reach competence
- Case managers (including nurses, peer support specialists, supported employment)
Case managers are trained in CBT-p informed strategies, based on scope of practice, where they complete three-day intensive trainings, consultation meetings, and behavioral rehearsals to reach competence.
